The Gruffalo Dominoes
These flashcards are designed to help your child with number recognition, counting and simple sums. The cards are divided into different types. The “number word” cards show the numeral and corresponding numbers of items on one side, with the written number (e.g. one, two etc… ) on the blue coloured reverse side. “Numeral” cards show the numeral on one side (with red backgrounds, so they are easy to spot), and a corresponding number of items on the reverse side.
The cards can be used in a number of ways – Take the number word cards and cover the number in the top left hand corner. Ask your child to count the number of objects shown on the card. If they do this correctly, show them the written number displayed in the top left hand corner, so they can start to associate this with the number of objects they have just counted. Put all of the number word cards picture face up, and all of the numeral cards face up (showing the numerals, not the pictures). Ask your child to match the picture and the correct number (i.e. 6 cows with the numeral 6). Using just the numeral cards, ask your child to arrange all of the numbers in order. Use the cards to create very simple sums such as 3 + 3 = and ask your child to find a card that matches the number.
There are 3 cards with larger numbers on. These are 30, 40 and 50. You can use these to progress your child’s counting skills as they advance. This item includes 34x Flash Cards. This game is suitable for 2-4 players. Suitable for ages 3 years and up.
