A marine mammal, the Beluga is a cetacean and is totally white until adult age, living in the Arctic Ocean. It can measure up to 6 m and weigh more than 1.5 tonnes. It has no back fin and has a highly developed sonar enabling it to find its way around in the maze of icy Arctic water channels.
